Hi! I'm Katelyn, a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
I am currently working with Professor Aaron Johnson in the Robomechanics Lab, where my interests lie in bio-inspired robotic control and design.
I earned my M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, during which I worked with Professor Monroe Kennedy on dexterous manipulation and with Professor Ken Salisbury on microsurgical robotic instruments. I also established the ASME Stanford Student Section and served as President for two years.
Along the way I've designed impedance controllers for KUKA arms at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), improved robotics deployment processes at Amazon Robotics, and built assistive vehicle entry mechanisms for Volkswagen.
